Swatch: Incoco Yours Truly nail polish appliques

The product in this post was sent to me for review. All opinions are my own.

Hey, I guess Valentine's Day is coming up, huh? My husband and I decided we don't need to do anything special ("oh hey, I'll take you to Popeye's!") so we'll probably end up watching a movie. Fine with me really! But I do need to do my nails for the occasion of course.

Luckily Incoco sent me their new Sweet Surprise collection of nail polish appliques! The collection consists of five lovey-dovey nail wrap designs. Unfortunately for me, they're all shades of pink, which doesn't look great with my skintone, but I have to make some sacrifices for the holiday.

Today I'm wearing Yours Truly, a set of pastel pink appliques with some romantic-looking French written on them in red. (I can see the word "l'amour", so it must be a love note.)

Incoco Yours Truly nail polish appliques. Out the Door topcoat.

Incoco nail polish appliques come in sets of 16 strips (two of each size) and each strip has two slightly different ends, so you can choose the strips that fit your nails best. Once they're stuck on, you stretch them out to remove any wrinkles and fill in your nail. They're pretty resilient, but they can tear if you pull too hard. Then you file off the overhanging bit. As usual, I was very happy with these--they came out very smooth. And since they're made of nail polish, I was able to clean up any imperfections with polish remover (e.g. some of the strips were too big for my nail, so I wiped off the excess).

Incoco says you don't need base or topcoat with their appliques, but I always use topcoat because I find it prevents the edges of the wrap from snagging on things (and I'm less likely to pick at them).

The only other issue to report with this particular pattern is that the writing goes one way down the whole strip, so depending on which end of the strip you use, the writing may end up right-side-up or upside-down (as you can see). Still, they are sickeningly sweet, aren't they?

Yours Truly and the rest of the collection are available at incoco.com for $8.99 each. They also have several older Valentine's patterns that look equally cute!

  1. These are super cute!! Popeye's is also delicious and I would love to eat there on Valentine's or, hell, any day.

  2. Gorgeous! These don't even look like wraps, they look like stamped polish, which is awesome.
