June's Gimme That Polish!

Hey gang! It's a new month already (how??) so of course I have my top lemmings from last month to show you! As usual, I've linked to the original reviews so you can read more about them.

1. Dance Legend - Evolution

No, it's not summery, but just look at that blue glow! Dance Legend is pretty much at the top of my "favorite brands I don't own any of" list, know what I mean? (swatch by More Nail Polish | Dance Legend shop)

2. Rescue Beauty Lounge - Refined and Polished

I straight up love the unusual color combo here! Plus, this polish was designed by Lakeisha of Refined and Polished, who is a pretty awesome lady. (swatch by Manicurator | Rescue Beauty Lounge shop)

3. Literary Lacquers - Bottletown

I still love it when people add extra stuff to holos--I mean, yes, holos are amazing, but more stuff = more amazing! In this case you get extra blue and rainbow flashes, alongside that interesting shade of green. (swatch by The Mercurial Magpie | Literary Lacquers shop)

4. Glam Polish - Crystal Couture

I've been seeing this style of polish (silver holo base plus sprinklings of glitter) everywhere lately, and I love the bling factor. No surprise that Glam Polish does it well! (swatch by KellieGonzo | Glam Polish shop)

5. Elevation Polish - When the Cherry Met the Spoon

I don't really go for red polish, but nudge it just a bit towards purple and I must have it! This jelly is so squishy looking, I almost want to eat it (note: do not eat nail polish). (swatch by Manicurator | Elevation Polish shop)

March's Gimme That Polish!

Hi gang! I've been a bad blogger this week. In fact, I haven't even done my nails! I've been slightly absorbed with getting ready for my newest collection (which is out now!). But I promise to do better in April!

So of course I have to show you my top five lemmings from my Pinterest board for last month. As always, go visit the original swatchers for more photos and info!

1. Dance Legend - Sub Zero

Yes, this is a thermal, but what really interests me is the contrast between the teal base and flakies and the red-gold shimmer. Love it when different elements of a polish come together like this! (Dance Legend shop | swatch by More Nail Polish)

2. Femme Fatale - Mirror, Mirror, On the Wall...

This seriously looks like the nail polish (hoof polish?) that a unicorn would wear. Freaking magical! (Femme Fatale shop | swatch by Very Emily)

3. Glam Polish - Lehua

I don't normally go for reds, but this one has enough purple in it to make me like it, plus the blue-green flakies really pop (it's kind of the same reason why I like Sub Zero up above!). (Glam Polish shop | swatch by Royal Milk Tea)

4. Literary Lacquers - Avada Kedavra

Ooh, love the way those green glitters lurk under the brown base! It's a shame we don't see more glitter polishes with matte bases. (Literary Lacquers shop | swatch by The Mercurial Magpie)

5. Serum No. 5 - March 2015

So much depth with just one color! I continue to be impressed with Serum No. 5's glitter mixes. Too bad this one was LE! (Serum No. 5 shop | swatch by The Mercurial Magpie)

February's Gimme That Polish!

Yes, I realize February has been over for several days now...I guess I inadvertently took a little blogging break! I have an excuse though...over the weekend I found out I got accepted into a Master's program, so I'll be going back to school (again) next fall! Woohoo!!

Anyway, here are my top five lemmings from my Pinterest board last month. As always, click the links to visit the original bloggers' posts!

1. KBShimmer Funky Cold Patina

KBShimmer really hit it out of the park with glitter crellies in their spring collection, and this one's my favorite. Mostly because of that gorgeous aqua base! (KBShimmer shop | swatch by The Nail Polish Challenge)

2.  Glam Polish Leilani (Heavenly Flower)

I couldn't NOT pick this one because a) it's a delicious shade of purple and b) look at those flakies pop! A terrific mix of textures here. (Glam Polish shop | swatch by Lacquerstyle)

3. Spell Polish Friendly Omens

Another lovely crelly! I think the grey base prevents this one from looking too carnival-esque, and the opacity looks perfect. (Spell Polish shop | swatch by Very Emily)

4. Dance Legend Bereginya

I am constantly in awe over Dance Legend's stuff. I love the delicate, natural base color of this one--it makes me think of jade. (Dance Legend shop | swatch by Very Emily)

5. CrowsToes The Terminal Engagement

I suppose this polish isn't super original, but there's something about dark colors with super strong shimmer that just calls to me... (CrowsToes site | swatch by Pointless Cafe)

September's Gimme That Polish!

Yep, I'm double-posting today! I had to show you my favorite lemmings from my Pinterest wishlist for September! We're rapidly approaching Halloween, so my list is a bit spooky this month. 1. Dollish Polish - Got Brains?

2. China Glaze - Choo-Choo Choose You

Yes, another dark and shifty shimmer! They're definitely in season, but I seriously could wear this kind of polish every day of the year. Actually, I kind of need the entire China Glaze All Aboard collection. (China Glaze site | swatch by Lace and Lacquers)

3. Philly Loves Lacquer - Bats Are the Chicken of the Cave

Ahhh I just love full-coverage microglitter! This one looks like TV static. Plus it's holographic!! Just love everything about this. (Philly Loves Lacquer shop | swatch by Accio Lacquer)

4. Cadillacquer - The Rest is Silence

Let's interrupt the parade of moody polish with an in-your-face aqua! Holos with contrasting shimmer are my new favorite thing. The whole Sons of Anarchy collection is amazing like this. (Cadillacquer shop | swatch by Fashion Polish)

5. Glam Polish - Wicca

June's Gimme That Polish!

One day I'll manage to do my Gimme That Polish post before the month is actually over! At any rate, here are my five favorite polishes of the ones I pinned to my wishlist last month. Check out the original blogger reviews and let me know your biggest lemmings in the comments!

1. Indigo Bananas Acid Ocean

Andrea of Indigo Bananas continues to be amazing with her new collection of jelly flakies. I love the way those toxic green flakies pop out of the murky blue base...it reminds me of a bioluminescent sea creature! (Indigo Bananas shop | swatch by The Mercurial Magpie)

2. KBShimmer Look High and Holo

I had to have at least one jelly glitterbomb this month! This one is super colorful and perfect for summer. Plus, come on, holo glitter! Yes please! (KBShimmer shop | swatch by Nail Polish Wars)

3. Glam Polish Rivendell

OK, not only is this a Lord of the Rings-themed polish AND a teal polish, but just look at those flecks! Flakes and flecks are probably my #1 favorite "thing to put in nail polish", so I'm all over this one. (Glam Polish shop | swatch by Accio Lacquer)

4. Powder Perfect Deceptively Sweet

This one's uncharacteristically girly for me, but I love the muted lilac base color, and the gold shimmer makes it special but still restrained. You definitely need to check out the full-size pics to appreciate this polish! (Powder Perfect shop | swatch by The Nail Polish Project)

5. Northern Star Polish Electric Lime

Mmm, this shade of green really hits the spot for me. The combo of the green with the various colors of glitter makes me think of tropical fruit! An awesome polish for summer. (Northern Star shop | swatch by The Mercurial Magpie)

Quick swatch: Glam Polish Leapfrog

Hey all! I just wanted to show you what I'm wearing on my nails today, because it's awesome! I had never gotten to try the amazing Aussie indie Glam Polish before, but they're discontinuing a bunch of their polishes right now and they're all on sale (plus they ship to the US!). So I took the opportunity to grab some I had on my wishlist before they disappeared forever!

Boy am I glad I bought this one! Leapfrog is a teal crelly with neon green, yellow and purple glitter. Very fun and summery!

Sadly, Leapfrog is now gone from Glam Polish's shop, so I guess it's sold out. :-( But you might be able to get it used from someone.

February's Gimme That Polish!

 
It's new feature time here at ALIQUID! If you follow me on Pinterest, you know that I'm constantly pinning swatches of polishes I'm lusting after. (My wishlist is currently about 50% larger than my actual stash...) I decided it would be fun, at the end of each month, to pick my top five lemmings from that month and share them with you! 1. Emily de Molly - Turbulence

 

This isn't a new polish, but it's new to me. Why must these Australian indies keep torturing me with such amazing stuff?? Just look at it, a blue jelly (already +1 in my book) packed with sparkly holographic goodness. I have so many EdMs on my wishlist now! Check out the great swatches by It's All About the Polish and Emily de Molly's shop!

2. I Love Nail Polish - Nostalgia (H)

Yep, I'm still a sucker for those ILNP ultrachromes, despite owning two already. Nostalgia is a newer one, and this version has the added holographic finish. Unnnhhh, color shift... (Here are more swatches by Nailz Craze, and the ILNP shop.)

3. Zoya - Dillon

Zoya remains the master of the glass fleck. I want all of the glass flecks from the spring Awaken collection (except that yellow one, would NOT look good on me), but this seafoam green fellow is just calling my name. Polish Hound has gorgeous swatches of all of them!

4. Glam Polish - Spectral

OK let's be honest, I need the entire Supernatural collection from Glam Polish. Jewel tones with shimmer, flakies and holo glitter? GIMME GIMME GIMME. Another seductive Aussie brand!! Here are Work Play Polish's delicious swatches and Glam's shop (they ship to the US, it's just pricey!).

5. Nail Pattern Boldness - Intoxicated

When I wear glitter, I don't like mucking about with layering and all that nonsense. I want full coverage, dammit! Well, Nail Pattern Boldness' Parliament of Magpies collection gets my thumbs-up in that department. I just love the intricate pattern formed by those tiny glitters. I need, like, half this collection right now (despite the prospect of removing all that glitter). Check out Accio Lacquer's fabulous swatches and NPB's shop!
